Transitioning Fashion from Summer to Fall

Now that summer is officially over and fall is approaching, you can expect a few changes in your wardrobe, but there are some things in your summer wardrobe collection that you can still wear for the fall. Of course, you should make sure that you have a trench coat – that is a given. It really doesn’t have to be expensive or any name brand. You can get one without burdening your pocket book.

I love me some knee high boots, but I love booties just as much and both are excellent for the fall. In fact, the booties that you wore during the summer months can be added to your fall ensemble. For the fall, flats and sandals are typically switched out for boots. This is the norm so you won’t go wrong in purchasing one. It doesn’t have to be embellished or anything like that. Some plain black leather boots with studs will do if you are looking for edginess. You can wear it with your long flowing summer dress covered with a tailored jacket.

Grey Is In

The color grey is one of the fall trends. You can also look out for light blush tones. You can combine summer pinks with the fall grey to create a chic look. For example, a pair of grey jeans with a pink sheer summer top and a jacket will do the trick for fall. You can couple this ensemble with a grey handbag and some neutral pumps or boots. Be sure to add a scarf to your coat when stepping out into the fall coolness.

School Gear

If you are looking for fall outfits for school, don’t put away that summer dress. Cover it with a tailored blazer and a pair of ankle booties or flats. As an alternative to a handbag, try throwing on a backpack for that school girl look.

As usual, for hosiery, tights are going to be essential for the fall. You can still wear your summer skirts, dresses and shorts, dressing them up with tights – sheer or patterned. For a bargain, walk the aisle of Marshalls and T.J. Maxx department store. You will be surprised how cheaper hosiery is than other stores.

OK, now summer is over, but you don’t have to get rid of those cute sandals. You can wear them with your fall ensemble; whether you are going to wear a dress and blazer or pair of black pants, white t-shirt and black blazer.

I am a handbag addict. On any given day, you can see me going through the handbag collection at Marshalls and T.J. Maxx – looking like a kid in a candy store. I love to find discounted designer handbags so the time and search is usually worth it. For the fall, you can look for bags of all types and in a variety of colors such as lavender, emerald and mustard.

I love to shop at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. It is a different shopping experience and they always have seasonal bargains and fashionable items on sale. So if you are looking for a transition from your summer wardrobe to fall closet, these two department stores are going to be your friend from now on. Do you have any shopping experience at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls to share with our readers where you came away with a bargain? Leave a comment below.
