Cleavage is a personal taste for most women, but in actuality, it has a lot to do with the occasion, bra size and physique. Some women don’t really care about that. They will dress how they want and when they want, but for all the fashonistas out there, wearing a cocktail dress is a different ball game. You don’t want to be negative talk of the party, do you? Or do you care? Well, it is up to you. If you are a woman over forty, though, you should care about how you dress. It is all about how you feel in the end, but you still want to be known as a chic diva, right?

I did some research on this very delicate topic and found that most women do care how they look, whether in a casual outfit or cocktail ensemble. Remember, you have game and by the time you are forty years old, you can dress better than any 25 year old…or at least, you should – puhlease!.

Consider This

Below are some things that you should consider before you talk about that plunging neckline on your cocktail dress.

  • Do you have a busty top? If you are bigger up top, you should ensure that those ‘babies’ are under control. This means that you must have a bra that fits well and even then, you have to be careful that they don’t fall out or show too much.
  • What is the occasion? Is it a fun party where people really don’t care what you have on?
  • What type of fabric is your cocktail dress? Is it to clinging, stiff or thin?
  • Did you take a good, long hard look in the mirror before stepping out of the house? Be honest with yourself. How do you really look in the outfit? What part of our body are you trying to draw attention to? Hopefully, not too much of your bust is hanging out.
  • Will the party be attended by elegant and sophisticated ladies? Or is it a party where showing a lot of skin is no big deal?
  • What is the message you are trying to bring across?

In any event, be sure to wear a bra and shape wear if applicable, just so you have the appropriate body structure. For uncomfortable shape wear, opt for a full lsip to give you more bust coverage.

Sagging Bust Line

If you have sagging breast, you don’t want to be exposing too much. If you decide to go low with your cocktail dress, then again, it is best to have the proper bra to get that extra lift. Wear a cocktail dress that complements your figure including your bust line. You could opt for a low cut dress with no sleeves and wear a nice short jacket over it to hide your bust line.

Conclusion

There is really no simple answer to this situation. If you have the guts to show everything and you don’t care, then by all means go for it. If you have fashion sense and know what is best, then do what is right for you. Have fun dressing for that cocktail party! Let us know what you think by leaving your comments below.
